Repackaged notes

Growing up in the nineties in India, we were subject all kinds of terrific (good and bad) pop culture. Along with the whatshisname rap arts who sang about asking girls to sit in their cars in terrible rhythm we also had the privilege to see collaborations across borders that gave music a sense of universality. One of such songs was sung by a Pakistani artist, the visuals, the music and lyrics were all spoken about quite a bit back when it was released in the late nineties. And being an avid follower of a certain music based show I was pleasantly surprised by this rendition of the same song .  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aroZE9dByIg

Respect

I cannot even begin to imagine the amount of effort is require to attempt something so steadfast for sixteen years. Irom Sharmila. If not anything, it brought a little attention to the AFSPAness in our beloved NErn states. I hope things all become better. The nice people there deserve better.

Another realisation

I realised that I managed three more places in a 'to go' list I made ages ago. In fact I could strike of some places two and four years respecitively but never did. Just realised that today. I also realised that someone I know had/has a similar list and just managed to clear a place on my list. Probably has gone to several more but nice to know that people travel. Whatever be the reason. If someone paid me and told me 'Ja Simran'...i would only and only travel. I knew that long ago, but since I need to limit myself until i save enough money. I will dream just enough to fulfil them. But then again, I have managed to dream bigger stuff and achieve them, late but still. That said, there is a dream I stopped dreaming for myself which keeps fluctuating every now and then, but  I manage to be stable. For sometimes, dreams are better off in our sleep and not hitting the light of the day.

Another day, another time

I met someone whom I still don't dislike after a year. Others, whom I still like after two years. For me thats an achievement. Yes, this is the same me who still maintains some incredibly long friendships. I just don't like people that easily (worse than before). And once I like them, its a while longer before I want to be proper friends with them (even if I have spent a lot of time talking to them). Today I had a bout of biast I faced at the university but a mail, three messages and a phone call (all from different people) made me smile again. Things may not go in the way I would like for them to go, but who knows it might be better this way. Even if it isn't. It is better to think this way no?

Kid

In this messed up world of mine, Just the thought of you makes me smile. Although from afar, wishing you were near Knowing its never, Nevertheless Here's looking at you kid.* * This line is from Casablanca. A movie that gradually but completely grew on me. The line just spoke what I feel and fit into my thoughts.  **Although this started off as thoughts about one, I realise it fits the bill for two. Two completely different cases and feelings. But true.

The colours of the sky

always mesmerise.
