I love writing letters. And in this era, emails.
That said, I have friends who dislike it immensely for various reasons or plainly because they cannot be bothered.
One of such friends sent me an elaborate email yesterday. I was outdoors when I saw it and the mere fact that it was her who sent me this email made me read it twice. Once immediately after receiving it and once again after I got back to my room.
While some people have the art, way with words, the craft come naturally to them, some speak their mind. The advantage of evolving into the age of email is probably just that, it is okay to be casual (very casual) in your letters. Making the entire ordeal (for some) of constructing letters less intimidating.
I have one letter I haven't mailed out in a long time (so much that now I need to rewrite it) and four more that need to come to life soon. Yesterday's email reminded me of just that.
The content of the email was endearing, like a warm hug from someone across the ocean. Some people do a better job of expressing themselves, more than they know. It felt, always feels good receiving such mails and I feel gratefully for such people. People who take the time to think about me and then convey the fact that they thought about me. Blessed. That is how they make me feel.
