As people who have been in contact me since Jan 2014 would know, I am back to being on a reading spree. The list of books include Percy Jackson (from the second book to the last one), In that a satyr and Percy share an empathy link.
By this, they not only connection with each other but also feels what the other person is feeling at that point.Somehow this reminds/reminded me about something called 'umbilical cord connection' in this terrific drama called 'Anveshitha' on a certain Telugu channel when we were kids. In this the connection (if my memory serves me correctly) is between the devil possessed mother and her child who has her powers along with the goodness of mankind. (Yes, the makers are paying me advertise it as the next super 'blast from the past'----I wish).
The point being, do you every feel that way with anyone? What makes writers write such a connection? Is it because of experience or is it because you want to have such a connection with someone else. Of course, these questions are rhetorical.
And on that note, how your empathy links work for you folks.
