So i was in the parlour earlier today
And waiting for my sis
My pedicure was over and i was pretty much vela. This other lady whom i decided not to judge to much, who also reminded about some genetics lesson (this is a different topic altogether). She was very fair, probably in her sixties.medium built, silver bob-cut hair(actually cant even call it bob cut,i call it granny cut cause it reminds me of ammamma). She was having a pedicure, manicure done and sitting in front of me.
I was observing the colour of the nail polish she put (note here again i was vela)...the first was a pale pink, something which would look nice on only extremely fair people. It looked nuice, but she said 'Kuch zayada hee light nahi ho gaya?',then tried another shade from the parlour collection (previous one she brought with her).
Then i saw the next colour (and in mind i was thinking, hmm both looked quite nice, but was slightly partial to the pale pink, its a pink i like). After this video went blank as i was thinking somethinking else, but i vaguely do remember audio, she was like 'Shayaad ye achcha hoga...'.
Then after a while, her toe nails were all painted, and she was looking at them and said 'I hope it looks decent, what do you think?' , I was not taken aback because its India, where random conversations dont really come under invasion of privacy. You speak to random people on the bus,at the bus stop, trains (locals too),hotels (a topic for a different post again).
Anyways, I looked at the slightly darker shade of nail polish on her toe nails and thought it still looked good. And told her that. She was feeling very consious and told me,I've never worn such a dark colour (it wasnt really dark!) and i am glad the colour isnt one my fingers'.
Then she realised she wasnt patient enough and smudged the nail paint on one nail, she was like..sheehsh i messed it! A couple of minutes later, she got up to leave and told me 'See you around, then stopped and asked me my name'.Then she came upto me and told me something that i cant really recollect and followed by
God Bless You (blessing me with her hand over my head). I was speechless and just smiled back. When she left i wondered why i couldnt open my mouth and say Thank you.
She was so sweet,i dont think i'll ever forget this lady's face and whoever you are, whereever you are..God Bless you too!
It may not mean a thing to anybody who reads this post, but it does to me.
