Disclaimer: I am not an intellectual..maybe a pseudo intellectual.
KCR Has called off his hunger strike after the annoucement by Chidambaram that T-state will be true.
So beloved AP will soon be Telangana,Rayalseema,Andhra ..or so it seems.Soon-maybe anytime from after a year or later. Now i understand why people want a separate state,I also understand why so people want a unified state. But i don't have a staunch support to either.I am a Hyderabadi!
I have three ""issues"" if the division comes through(and Hyd is not independent) a)Local Calls won't be local anymore b)We will not have a coast line. c)I cannot write TG on my address instead of AP.
Imagine x-2,SR apts,City Name,TG (thank god!) followed by pincode.Yes,people i AM that shallow.
Now coming to why i HAD to write this post.At the rate things were going..i only became more and more aware of 'politics'.
Firstly, for those who don't know, I am a silent but strong support of the Irom Sharmila Movement. Now I think THAT is a cause worth fighting for.
News and word of mouth showed us how much the bandhs effected people in Hyd.Now imagine being born and living in surroundings where curfews and bandhs are just part of their daily life.
You go out to check how severe the bandh is today. You get out of the house in the night and meet family and friends secretly. You are happy that you do not have too many boys in the house.
Where doctors help the so called 'other kind of people'.Where these other people and of different kinds but all termed 'naxals' by the state.
Where tomorrow a loved one maybe dead and declared to be secretly an extremist.Where the ones that take innocent lives are decorated by galantry awards.Yet people go about their existence, celebrate birthdays, watch non-Hindi television and care for each other.
Yes,they are them purists want all to dress in certain ways and learn their language in a specific manner. But these are everywhere.
As far as my support goes AFSPA should be removed. My respect of the forces has gone down a considerable amount in the last ten years. But yes,it still exists.Maybe in the form of optimism that they will be a better future for kids of the region.
Manipur and other NE regions have experienced the worst when it comes to the AFSPA act.I have never been to Maniur,i will some day.But when people from Iran,South Korea support and understand the basic Human Rights violations that are happening through this act,why can't I?
AFSPA act gives the permission :
-To enter your home and search it
For people suspected of or who are 'against the law(read state)
-To disrupt a gathering of five or more people, and maybe even arrest them
-Use any kind of force to do all of the above
There is no Democracy even in the remote sense in ANY of these regions.
When i tell mom this (the first thing i heard when i got up this mornig was about TRS chap),she says well this is happening since 1960s.So i tell her..so is this.
I'm not a follower of Gandhi....but they do say that his non-violence gave us """independence""" right? How is it that Non-Violence triggered violence (KCR's fast caused quite the turmoil) is proving to be heard while Iron Irom's steadfast fast,is being ignored?
She the follower of Gandhi with a cause greater than the geographical division of regions. She with a stronger will than many.
If so remains the case, i rather they become a different country or annexed into a neighbouring one...if the kids have a better future then.
(I will put a full stop here,i have a lot more to say..but i'll stop)
Thank you for listening dear blog.
PS:Metei and other manipuri friends thank you for being there in my life. And Tripurey waaley too.
PPS:Incidents or sentences are based on stories i hear all the time from residents over there and literature.

There is nothing more pleasing than having someone you miss, miss you back.
It makes the missing worth it.
